Added Capacity

APS has added an 80 ton Engle e-motion, all electric, tiebarless molding machine. This has allowed us to increase our prototype and production molding capacity, be more flexible with mold designs, and efficiently create thin-walled parts.

The tiebarless feature of this machine greatly enhances our ability to run molds that require hand loaded inserts for short run and prototype molding. It also increases our mold design flexibility. Simply put, we are not constrained to keep it within the tie bars.

Along with this feature, the e-motion standard mode gives us greater accuracy with all control settings. Most specifically, injection speed and shot size. The control afforded by this allows us to produce the best quality parts available.

The 80 ton Engle also has the X-MELT feature. This program, coupled with the e-motion machine controls, allows for the molding of thin-walled parts. The trend for plastic parts is to make them as thin as possible, as fast as possible and for the greatest economy. This is where X-MELT comes in. Instead of using accumulators, X-MELT uses a lower temperature and a burst of material to quickly fill the mold cavity, providing unparalleled precision and control of the position of the screw; not to mention a reduced cycle time. Shot to shot repeatability is assured.
